A Few Words from Lorie Lewis

Thank you for visiting Jewell Resources and for supporting organizations helping women.
Getting to this point has been a passion of mine for some time. I believe that women are strong and endure much, but sometimes, like me, there are those who need that extra bit of encouragement to get to the next step in their life and move beyond where they are.

There are so many people who are inspiring and helped me in my journey to get beyond where I was. They gave me the encouragement to move to the next step. Because of these individuals, I wanted to somehow give back to others. Thus was born my dream to create something inspiring and motivational while helping organizations that help women in need.

Over the years, much of my encouragement has been of the personal nature and I have also devoured many books and inspirational works. While I was encouraged to write a book, it did not have the right feel for what I wanted to do. As I talked with women and watched them over the years, one thing came through. Many women carry a planner and many women journal. So why not marry the two and create something that can inspire every day? The seed was planted, but it now needed some tending and nurturing. From my first hand made prototype that was really rough, my friends came through and continued to encourage me to pursue my dream. Lynn, who designed the cover, was the first one who gave me that extra encouragement by telling me that she knew exactly how the cover should look. And look at how beautiful it is and how it speaks to our beauty and metamorphosis as women.

I would like to thank the following outstanding women:
• Lynn Leaders for her beauty – she created and inspired the cover and donated her time and talents. Lynn has continued to encourage me when I wasn’t sure that I should move forward and questioned whether it was okay to put myself out there for something I believed in.

• Duffi Goodrich for donating so much time and for being such a patient and wonderful teacher as I learned the ropes of converting files and working through the process of getting my work of art ready for the printers and for creating this beautiful Website.

• Kristine Gerber for providing insight into the publishing world and for her encouragement to market my planner.

• My inaugural Board of Directors, Pat Caffrey, Stephanie Horeis and Arlene Porzelt, for their wisdom, suggestions, and continued friendship over the years.

• My mother, Connie, for her continued strength through all that she has endured.

Giving Back 50% of Profit from Sales of these Planner-Journals to Help Women in our Community

With your help, the goal is to donate 50% of the profits to nonprofit organizations dedicated to helping women in need in our community.

These journals will be available only through bookstores that agree to reduce the percentage of their profits so that more of the proceeds can go directly to the organizations that support women.

Many people have donated time and reduced costs so that the price would stay within a range that was affordable yet provide a beautiful and inspirational planner.

To date, several area nonprofit organizations that assist women have received donations from the sale of these journals.
